Community Leagues Day 2020 in Spruce Avenue

 Saturday September 19, 2020
4pm to 6pm

We will be having our annual Community League Day to celebrate our community leagues and connection to our neighbourhood. We will be celebrating in a physically distant way but still together!  We are all getting a  sense of the fluid nature of living in a pandemic. So details will evolve and you can stay up to date on our social media pages and website but here is what we have so far.

 Stronger Communities Together

What do we have planned? A  Parade & Concert!!

Members are encouraged to parade into our concert location (kids can decorate their bikes) and travel across 114 Avenue toward the Spruce Avenue Park to take their spot starting at 4pm for the Concert that will be available. Participants should know that only the first 200 people will be allowed to set up in the outdoor concert location near Spruce Avenue Park. Bring your own chair and snacks, cleaning supplies and masks. No washroom will be available at the Spruce Avenue Hall for the duration of the event.

Community members will be able to enjoy a concert starting at 5pm. Featuring local singer Martin Kerr, who has been traveling across  the city of Edmonton with his outdoor street performances. We will also have a Covid-friendly pass the hat for tips during the concert.

Other Activities:

Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch

We have a neighbourhood watch program so we think having a representative from the Edmonton chapter could help bring up some interest and awareness for our community. Neighbourhood Watch programs are geared toward creating safer communities through crime prevention programs and education. It is crime prevention FOR the community BY the community.

Bike Index Registration

We will be offering stickers for those registered members on the Bike Index.

Before you come with your bike go online and sign up for the Bike Index

After you register, you can pick up a free unique sticker from our event, or EPS station front desk. You don’t need a sticker to register your bike with Bike Index. But a Bike Index/EPS sticker is:

  • a unique identifier so anyone with a smartphone can instantly be taken to your Bike Index registry page to contact you if they believe it’s stolen
  • another deterrent for potential bike thieves as it shows your bike is watched by the entire community
  • made of strong material to weather any storm and is extremely difficult to take off
  • And it’s free!

Free Spruce Avenue Community League Membership

Normally we charge a low membership fee but given the state of the current economy and the ever present need to come together we will be offering membership free of charge in 2020/2021 membership year. Sign up your whole family today!
